Greg Beachey Ice Artist

Beachey has competed in ice sculpting for 10 years. The two 350-pound blocks of ice that each of the eight artists was given started to melt even before the carvers were able to attack them with their waterproof electric chain saws, stencils and chisels. Most of the carvers were from the South Bend area. But as hard as they worked, they seemed to be fighting against the unseasonably warm weather more than each other.
