Walkersville High School basketball players Jordan Dixon and KATELYN BEACHEY have been selected to play in the McDonald’s Roundball Classic High School All-Star Showcase, a series of all-star games.
BEACHEY, a three-year starter, swung between guard and forward for the Walkersville girls, who finished 15-8 this year. She averaged 9.3 points, three rebounds and five assists per game. One of her favorite moments was sinking a three-point basket in the waning seconds of an early-season game against Winters Mill, the defending region champs, and sending the contest into overtime. Walkersville won. An honor roll student, she interns and works part time at Heritage Animal Hospital. "I'll still be practicing basketball to get ready for next year, but I'll miss the players I've been with for four years, including my best friend, Josie Hildebrand," BEACHEYsaid.
