Funeral Services for Floyd V. Beachy, 88, of Pleasantview Home, Kalona, will be held Monday, January 18, 2010 at 10:00AM at the Sunnyside Conservative Mennonite Church, Kalona, with Pastors John King and Floyd Helmuth officiating. Burial will follow in the South Gingerich Cemetery, rural Kalona. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 17 from 2-4 and 5-7 PM at the Sunnyside Conservative Mennonite Church in Kalona. Floyd died Sunday, January 10, 2010 at Pleasantview Home following a lingering illness. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for the Mennonite Central Committee.
Floyd was born April 23, 1921 in Kokomo, IN, the son of Andrew M. and Elizabeth (Beachy) Beachy. He was united in marriage to Mattie Miller in Amboy, IN on December 18, 1941. Floyd was a farmer most of his life, and worked at the Kalona Sales Barn in Kalona for 15 years. He was a member of the Sunnyside Conservative Mennonite Church where he served as a trustee and was very involved in the life of the church. Click here for the article in the Iowa City Press.
