That's so that the folks who take care of the elephant, who is a boy, can teach him to recognize his name.
The names are posted at www.columbuszoo.org. The one that receives the most votes by midnight May 6 will be announced at the zoo at 2 p.m. on May 10, which is Mother's Day.
