The Carlisle Thundering Herd girls' volleyball team sits for a picture at the "Play for Pink" event Tuesday (Lauren McClane/The Sentinel) Organized by senior Taylor Sullivan, the team not only wore pink shirts to raise awareness for breast cancer research, but organized an entire night to raise money.
Coach MIKE BEACHY, who also gamely sported a pink shirt and pink ribbon, expressed his pride in Sullivan. "I think it's awesome, a high school junior stepping up and doing this," he said. Last year, when Sullivan approached him, he went to the school board for various permissions, all of which were granted. "That was all I did. Everything else was her.
