Area riders receive recognition
At the January 9, 2011 meeting of the Iowa Bicycle Racing Association in
Des Moines, IA, Landon Beachy (left) of Kalona (Appliance Barn) received first
place 50+ 2010 Rider of the Year award and Richard Gilmore of Washington
received second place 60+ 2010 Rider of the Year award.
Rider of the Year is awarded to riders who accumulate the most points from
road races, time trials, criterium and cyclo-cross.

Potholes Poping Up "I just hit one. I hope my tires are ok," said JULIE PEACHEY who lives in the Beaverdale neighborhood of Des Moines. She's taken note of potholes popping up. "It doesn't seem as bad as last year, but I feel like they've come out earlier." Last weekend, Des Moines received 75 reports of pesky potholes.
