Roger Beachy director of National Institute of Food and Agriculture

July 30, 2010
Agricultural science suffers from a "culture of neglect," said Roger Beachy, director of the National Institute of Food andAgriculture at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. "Because we do not feel the hunger that gnaws at nearly a billion of the world’s citizens and because the few American farmers that feed America and much of the world are often out of sight and out of mind of urbanites," he said, "we have become complacent in the support and advocacy for agriculture research." As head of the federal government’s primary funder of agricultural research, Beachy said he is determined not "topreside over a flat budget and a research paradigm more suited to the 19th century than the 21st century." Brandon Beachy Atlanta Braves

Brandon Beachy had his first trouble as a starter and I wouldn't even consider it a bad start other than he didn't go more than 5 innings. I think, more importantly, is that he is throwing about 100 pitches a start each time out right now which means he just needs to manage his pitches better. He is striking out so many guys that it is running his pitch count up a bit. Click for more by yondaime4 July 21, 2010 12:28 AM EDT in Minor League Recaps

Spencer Beachy

Aurora Oregon; Hitting turned out to be contagious on Tuesday night at North Marion High School.
Facing an 8-3 deficit in the bottom of the sixth inning, North Marion’s Adam Hayden and Spencer BEACHY ignited a rally that put the Huskies on top 16-8. Hayden, who had a double earlier in the game, kicked off the scoring with an RBI single that cut the Royals’ lead down to four. BEACHY drilled a pair of doubles in the inning and racked up five RBIs. Justin Beachy Kearney NE

Justin Beachy of Kearney brought his wife, Tori, and children, Dillon and Kiera, and to see the cars. His interest extends from basic appreciation to getting his hands dirty. “I have a ’69 Mustang I’ve been working on for about eight years,” Beachy said. “I also have a ’74 Ford pickup that’s slowly coming along.” Neither of his projects are ready for display. Beachy said he enjoys the entire process of restoring a vehicle “from taking it from the weeds, to tearing it completely down, to building it to make it your own.” He said he enjoys remaking classic cars by adding new technology to make the car something special. A Few Oregon Beachys' at Air Museum in McMinnville

Note and picture from Floyd Beachy of Creswell Oregon July 3, 2010.
"Just a note that the "Reunion" went well today. We all had a good time. Our grandkids had a blast riding the plane themed merry go round ride in the space museum as well as being overwhelmed with the number of planes, satellites and other objects that fly in the sky and beyond."
"We met, had lunch and visited for some time before attempting to tour the museums."
Photo left to right. Front row, Bonnie Berry Beachy, (Floyd's mother). Jean & Norman Beachy, (Floyd's uncle) and 2nd cousin Howard Beachy.
Back row is Floyd & Cheryl's family: Chere and Cadance, Jay (Chere's friend) Jewel and Cheryl, and of course myself (Floyd) with Cameron on shoulder. Thanks Floyd for the picture and news of the day.I missed being there.
