Charles Beachy is one of the most consistent winners in Sun Press Go Seek. But he won’t be among those who are listed in next week’s paper as those who identified this week’s Go Seek. That’s because he submitted the photo for this week’s game, so he can’t play. Click for article By Sun New staff May 27, 2010, 1:23 AM

Bill Beachy Commission Chair Topeka KS

Commission Chair Bill Beachy wants the City Manager to consider not eliminating the three employees that make up the Human Relations Department, "We're going to be told that people should take their requests to the state human relations commission, which for us doesn't make anymore sense than when you have a burglar in your back yard and you decide to do something about it, and you call up the state highway patrol."

Bird in Grill Africa

This story just came in from Jeanette (Beachy) Saffarek. She and her husband Kurt are visiting their son Luke in Botswana. They have been touring and camping extensively and have some interesting stories to tell, one of them is posted here. Enjoy.
"We have a great bird story too. Kurt hit a bird and 250 km later at a gas station the attendants all gathered around the car and were pointing at the front, I thought they saw our mouse, then one reached down and there was a horrible racket and he pulled the bird out of the front of the car and it flew away!!! It was wedged in head first."

Phillip Beachy Bonners Ferry Idaho

In the picture Phil just finished explaining how he chose the numbers N915PB for his home built plane shown in the picture. N is required by US law for all planes in this category. 91 is the year Phil married his wife Jennifer. 5 is the number of children they have. PB is Phil Beachy's initials. Should never forget that number.
He has recently taken it on the maiden flight, "it is fun to fly" Phil said. This picture was taken at the Bonners Ferry airport inside the hanger built and owned by Phil and his brother Dan, who also has his own plane. Two more brothers in Missouri, Dennis and Ronnie have planes of their own. Ronnie built his from a kit. A flying family for sure. They are the sons of Elmer & Millie (Mast) Beachy of Florida.

Autumn Beachy Dekalb IN Senior

Autumn Beachy, seated center, with her parents Brenda and Marcus Beachy. Standing are DeKalb girls track coach Cole Krebs, left, and Baron cross country coach Rowland, right. Autumn has committed to compete in track and cross country at Purdue University. Autumn Beachy started running cross country in seventh grade to stay in shape for basketball. She had no background in running. Her parents weren’t runners. She didn’t particularly have an affinity for it. “I like it more than basketball right now,” Beachy said. “I just love the competitiveness and pushing myself.” Beachy has become what Perez calls “the poster child” for the tradition-rich DeKalb program. A string of all-state runners stretch nearly back to the early 1970s. Beachy is sort of a living legend. Beachy’s unflinching determination is one of her strongest traits, DeKalb coach Rowland Perez said. We are all cheering for you Autumn.

Sgt. 1st Class Kevin Beachy Western Maryland

Beachy from DC gets his turkey.
Friday's turkey hunt by Wounded Warriors at Letterkenny Army Depot resulted in two kills, several first-time experiences and a much-needed change of pace for the soldiers who have been injured while serving in the U.S. military, according to Nora Cummings, public affairs officer for Letterkenny. The soldiers were assisted by Sgt. 1st Class Dan Sims of Kentucky and Sgt. 1st Class KEVIN BEACHY, who is from western Maryland.
The hunt began at 4:30 a.m. Although early, the men were glad to be there, according to BEACHY, who shot one of the turkeys: "It's excellent therapy." "We appreciate being invited up here," said Beachy. "It's great to get away from the hospital and barracks. The scenery is really beautiful...and they have good cold beer in Shippensburg." BEACHY said that when they returned to D.C., he would invite all of the men to his apartment for deep fried turkey. Sam and Marilyn Beachy Homer Alaska

Sam and Marilyn Beachy are two Homer residents providing financial support of The Lost Children of Peru. "It's so grassroots, it's unbelievable," Sam Beachy said of Goode's efforts. "The money was going directly to the needs and not supporting some big organization trying to make this happen. (Goode) was going over there, paying his own needs. It's not like he was using any of it to feather his nest." "As our friendship grew, we realized that he really is what he says he is. In our opinion, that's a good thing," Marilyn Beachy said. The Lost Children of Peru is organized under Refuge Chapel. Contributions are tax deductible. Donations can be made by credit card.
