Dr. Roger Beachy, Director of USDA's National Institute of Food and Agriculture

>>The Donald Danforth Plant Science Center will receive $44 million from the U.S. Department of Energy in economic stimulus funding to lead a consortium that will conduct research on advanced biofuels.<< The announcement was made Jan. 13 by Energy Secretary Steven Chu. Dr. Jose Olivares is the principal investigator on the project. Dr. Richard Sayre is NAABB’s chief scientist NAABB and director of renewable fuels at the Danforth Center. Dr. ROGER BEACHY, who is now the director of USDA's National Institute of Food and Agriculture, a world renowned plant scientist, was the founding president of the Danforth Plant Science Center.
