Roger Beachy USDA Announced $40 M Grant


UC Davis today received $40 million in federal grants to develop climate-change-tolerant plants and new bioenergy sources. Roger Beachy, director of the USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture, announced the grants at a morning news conference at UC Davis, characterizing them as “significant investments.” The new U.S. Department of Agriculture grants will fund two projects in which UC Davis scientists will lead research teams from more than 50 universities in more than 20 states.
